A triptych varying
from 48 to 30 inches in height and a depth of 8 inches
This triptych is made from an abandoned piano.
I dissembled and rearranged them into figures of a cat, a dog, and
a bird. This sculpture started as a commission for a mirror frame
and when I lost my temper. This group of boxes would hang on the
wall. Their fronts open facing the viewer. It was built around the
iron harp from the soundboard of a piano. The shapes all vary to
follow the straight and curves of the perimeter of the harp. They
interlocked like a puzzle making a 7- foot square. They depth varies
from 5 to 8 inches. After months of working I could not get the
sculpture work. I lost my temper and kicked the boxes around and,
that is how the pets happened. The Bid is 48 inches tall, the Cat
is 45 inches tall, and the Dog running is 70” long. The other
parts of the piano were used to make muscles, bones, and the physical
features of the pets.
