A pedestal made from the quadruple limb intersection
on a peach tree. The diameter of the trunk is 8 inches and the limbs
are about 4 inches. One of the four limbs was cut off leaving a
stub. Is all finely sanded, oiled, and waxed. It has mostly the
yellowish cambium layer but, the pink read of the heart wood is
revealed in many places. There are also dark brown spots where other
limbs had been removed long before this tree died. One removed limb
removed was 2 inches and has healed making a dark recess near the
bottom of one of the legs. The tree limbs face down and were cut
to make the trunk, now pointing up, perpendicular with the ground.
The limb removed is sanded into a large bulbous shape where it joins
the trunk. The trunk is cut level with the ground and a piece of
heavy three fourths inch thick mirror polished aluminum is attached
for a top. It is cut into an irregular oval 24 by 32 inches. I guess
the name of this piece could have been the Converted Peach.
