This sculpture made from fallen tree
limbs is from my newest series of Pedestrian Amazonian. It is a
tick with two forked limbs joined in the middle. The one limb that
points down are the legs in close stance with three toes on each
foot. The second limb pointing to the sky is a pair of long skinny
arms outstretched and curving upward with two fingers on each hand.
There is a gourd for a head with a dowel for a skinny connecting
the head between the outstretched arms. She is Real Red.
This piece can be hung from a tall
tree or set on a cement block or stone and be strapped to and rise
out of the tree limbs. Christmas 2002, I had it in my front yard
with lights and taped a beard, mustache and a red Santa hat, for
a short time it was “Skinny Santa”
